You've Come A Long Way, Danny!

If you don't live here in Washington and follow the Redskins under Dan Snyder, it's easy to not understand the crap this town has crawled through since he bought the team in 1999. Like the narrator Red said in Shawshank Redemption:
Andy crawled to freedom through five hundred yards of shit smelling foulness I can't even imagine, or maybe I just don't want to. Five hundred yards...that's the length of five football fields, just shy of half a mile.
Well, leave it to me, and my trusty digital archives to give you just a SMALL SAMPLE (I am not kidding, there were dozens of other bites I could have trotted out) of that Redskins "tunnel of shit" we've finally come stumbling out of, all disheveled and stinky but hopeful and free, nonetheless.

Snyder has come a long way, give him that much. He was a slow learner, but the Jim Zorn "bottom out" with Vinny Cerrato really forced him to change. The fan base and franchise was on the verge of collapse.

Hell, it's why you see a currently disfigured FedEx Field, with the two gashes of un-sellable seats removed from the upper deck.

One NFC East title, however, does not mean bad times, stupid times, or shameless times will never return. They could. But let's hope this new direction for the franchise and Snyder, is a lasting one.
